If you’ve been using the physics engine in the Corona SDK, it’s probably not long before you need to create a custom shape table for an irregularly-shaped physics body. This, to be honest, can be a huge headache involving a lot of trial and error.
To make it a little easier on myself, I wrote a JSF command for Adobe Fireworks that makes it easy to simply draw your custom shape and extract from it the coordinates in a Lua-friendly table that you can just plug into your code. The panel is just a nice front-end to the JSF script. It’s in the early stages of development, and will largely evolve according to the needs of the community that uses it, but I thought I’d release it sooner rather than later. Right now it’s very much a tool that does just one thing but does it really well.
I’ve created a permanent page for it here. You can download the panel and watch a video of the panel in action at that page; in the future, updates and more information will be posted on that page (as well as via Twitter. Let me know what you think!
